Erin’s aspirations of becoming a lawyer began at the age of 12 when her love for reading and writing converged with her newly forming interest in government and politics. After graduating from Assumption High School, Erin attended the University of Kentucky, where she graduated magna cum laude and received the Vandenbosch Award in Constitutional Rights and Civil Liberties. Following graduation from college, Erin attended University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law. She was a published member of the Journal of Law and Education and while in law school, she received the Trial Practice book award.
Erin began her work in insurance defense as a law clerk in 2002. She continued in civil defense litigation in 2004 when she became an attorney and then joined Sewell & Neal, PLLC in 2006. Throughout her career she has had the opportunity to try a number of cases and pursue summary judgments and favorable settlements for her clients. She considers one of her most important accomplishments pro bono work she did in recovering money from a local builder who defrauded a number of Katrina refugees who had relocated to Louisville. She enjoys volunteering for local charities, fundraising for Holy Trinity Parish School, and traveling with her family.
